2010 a new year with lots of challenges to address

Dear Friends and Customers !
Hello to everyone :)
The last year was the most difficult for me in my whole human experience. My friend and husband who walked on my side for over 23 years died suddenly of a heart attack. For the last 7 months I had to walk alone and learn lots of new trades in order to manage my changed life. What a crazy life this is. So much joy and so much pain. I know I should be grateful for the years we shared, and I am, but I am also grieving deeply and find it difficult to continue as before.
But a good friend of mine gave me the advise of not changing anything drastically for one whole year and I follow this wise advise.
So here I am ....making jewelry as before and it grounds me in this time of upheaval and loneliness.

Art is the language of the soul. And so I pour myself into my jewelry and my music trying to find some kind of sense in this life I have to live now.
I decided to continue with the Arts and Crafts life that we have lived together for so many years. But now alone.
Here are the dates of this years shows as I know them right now.

May 8 + 9 Olympia WA Wooden Boat Festival
May 15 + 16 University Destrict Arts Fair Seattle
May 28 till May 31 Folklife Arts and Music Festival Seattle Center

July 10+ 11 Langely Arts Festival
July 17 +18 Gig Harbor Arts Festival
July 31 Samish Island Summer Festival

August 6,7 + 8 Anacortes Arts Festival
August 14+15 Coupeville Arts Festival

My work can also be seen at the Bellingham Farmers Market. Please email for dates. earth_worth @ yahoo.com

As new dates come up I will post them here.
Please come and visit me on the fairs this summer .
Yours truly Beate Degen

Oh Beate: I am SO sorry for your loss. You will not remember me. In 2009 I bought some of your beautiful earrings from NW FolkLife in Seattle. I love and cherish them and was looking for your contact details/show dates to share with a friend who has also admired them. Discovered about your sad loss. Well a year on now I hope you are finding some healing: your art is such a gift. (I have since moved to Eastern Washington - 2010 was a year of BIG changes for me too). All love and light
